PLATE SCALE FOR DUST CONTAINMENT

In the multi-head weighers, dust’s containment between the vibration transmission shaft and the machine surface is normally achived throw bellows, whose frequent lacerations often require maintenance service.

Challenge

One of the most important Italian technical equipments retailer asked us to realize a spare part with a better fatigue resistance than the original component and able to guarantee the same functionality in the machine.

Solution

As usual ATP’s team started from the analysis of the application.

OPERATION DATA

• Contact products: food product powder;
• Operating temperature: room temperature + 15 / + 35 ° C;
• Cleaning: high pressure compressed air + COP;
• Cleaning: high pressure compressed air + COP

SEALING  REQUIREMENTS

• FDA and UE 1935/2004 (MOCA) certifications,
•  Assembly in existing seats (no modification of machine admitted)

After analyzing the damaged part our team developed a bellow in SINTEK® H-TPU. Thanks to FEM analysis our technicians refined the geometry of the profile and realized some samples to test on the machine.

Evaluated the functionality of the replacement  and verified  its reliability  we proceeded with the production of the entire lot, which was delivered accompanied by MOCA documentation.

Testimony

The particular shape of the profile, the possibility of predicting the areas of greatest stress (thanks to the use of FEM analysis) and the use of extremely high-performance material have  premitted to our solution  to drastically reduce the number of maintenance works.
