Food seals

Discover the ATP solutions for the Food and Beverage sector

cerchio piccolo

Our food silicone seals are made of rubber (silicone, EPDM, FPM), polyurethane and plastic (PTFE, special PTFE, POM, PET, very high density and special PE)) ATP designs, manufactures and markets sealing systems and elastomeric and plastic material components for the food industry that meet the strictest hygienic design requirements.

Certified Materials for the Food Industry

Seals and details on design plastic articles realized by ATP are part of  MOCA’s regulation concerning destined to come into contact with food products and foods.

All materials for food applications are certified according to the European regulations EC 1935/2004, CE 10/2011 and REACH and the international regulations: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Sanitary Regulations 18-03 (3A), United States Pharmacopoeia (USP class VI), GB standard for China.  ATP’s qualitative parameters and the tests performed on the finished prodducts allow us to certify the production also according to EC 2023/2006 (Good Manufacturing Pratice).

The high ATP’s quality standards, the quality assurance system put in place and the checks carried out in each phase and on the finished products have allowed to ATP to obtain GMP certification by DNV-GL for the all the products and materials realized for the food&beverage industry. This cetrfication translates into important safeguard for customers who rely on ATP for the design and manufacture of special items, gasketsa and sealing systems, with a focus on food safety.

Thermal and Chemical Resistance and Components’ Traceability

ATP seals and food solutions are resistant to high and low temperatures, abrasion and a wide range of aggressive chemicals used in CIP sanitization and SIP sterilization processes. All applications are also managed to ensure complete traceability of components. In addition to the classic geometries such as oring (OR) and oil seals (sealing rings) ATP manages various solutions such as dosing pistons for fillers, ultra-cleaned hygienic solutions, PTFE seals with stainless steel spring, lip seals for linear  or rotating sealing systems.

The profiles of the seals used in the food industry, and in particular the one used which characterized the ultraclean piston, make it possible to avoid the stagnation of food fluids by reducing the formation of bacterial loads in the housing area of the seal.

The Added Value of FEM Analisis

Thanks to the use of FEM analysis, our research and development center has developed an innovative solution (ATP patent) for rotary and linear seals: the self-adaptive seal.
Developed for linear applications up to 20 bar, it stands out for its automatic compensation of eccentricities, high efficiency and long operating life. The self-adaptive seal can be used in many other applications with great effectiveness (sealing capacity) and efficiency (sealing life).

Low Friction Food Gaskets

Often in food plants the possibility of using low friction seals represents an important added value.
Among the most used solutions in the food sector, we point out the bellows and membranes in SINTEK V1AL 001177, a material characterized by a high chemical and thermal resistance, which allows the achievement of higher performances compared to traditional PTFE and an extension of the operational life of the applications.
