Scenario

Standard elastomer pipes are commonly used for fluid transfer in chemical and food industry.However sometimes it is absolutely necessary to resort to customized fittings in order to make some machines work.In those cases operators must strive invent do-it-yourself connections, which can lead to products leaks.

Challenge

One of our customers, leader in the cream industry, asked for our help to solve a leaking problem on the fittings on its machinery. He asked for a hygienic solution without leakage problems and also with a good aesthetic impact.

Solution

In order to satisfy what the client asked for ATP team has chosen to go for tailor-made pipes in PTFE, hygienic and resistant to sanitization material.

PTFE is a resin characterized by a low coefficient of friction, high thermal resistance and excellent resistance to chemical agents.

These peculiarities makes PTFE a highly performing and highly hygienic material.

Once the material had been identified and the geometry designed, it was possible to test the solution in the ATP R&D department using our static pressure testing machine.

Here tests were carried out for pressures from 0 to 40 bar, based on the diameter of the pipe used, verifying both the pressure tightness of the connection and the expansion of the diameters.

These tests allowed us to ascertain the correct Fitting Staples.and verify the correct functionality of the terminal part in order to guarantee the tightness of the application. At the end of the test, a test document was generated certifying the parameters of pressure, time and pressure gradients in and out of the circuit.

In this way, ATP guarantees the working characteristics of the solution.
